Reserve Adequacy Review

Reserve Adequacy Review

A focused pass over open claim applications to test whether case reserves still match the evidence in the file.

When to commission this review

Use a reserve adequacy review when case reserves on open applications feel stale after new invoices, medical updates, or salvage developments. It is narrower than a full financial audit of insurance claims applications and concentrates on whether the booked reserve still matches the evidence.

What we deliver

A reserve schedule that lists each sampled file, the current booked reserve, our recommended figure, and the reason for any movement. We also note files where the application itself lacks enough evidence to support any reserve change.

Included

  • Comparison of booked reserve to invoices and estimates on file
  • Flagging of duplicate or superseded cost items
  • Briefing notes for claims committee packs

Excluded

  • Setting formal IBNR at portfolio level
  • Actuarial modelling
  • Authority to change reserves in your system

Next step

Enquire about a reserve batch and tell us how many open applications you want sampled.
